Though the common sexual conditions affecting men can be easily counted on fingers, but I wish, it goes same while curing it. What I mean here is that are these sexual conditions easily curable too? But before having any further discussions on this, it would be good to talk about these conditions first.

A sexual problem or condition, or sexual dysfunction, refers to a problem that could arise at any phase of the sexual response cycle preventing the individual or couple from experiencing satisfaction and pleasure from the sexual intercourse. The sexual response cycle in total has four phases; they are excitement, plateau, orgasm, and resolution.

A research suggests that sexual dysfunction is common i.e. 31% of men and 43% of women report some level of difficulty, but it’s also true that it’s a topic that most people are hesitant to discuss. Fortunately, as most of the cases of sexual dysfunction are treatable, so it is important as well as beneficial to share your concerns and dreads with your doctor and partner.

Both men and women encounter sexual problems at some point in their life. Sexual problems can occur in adults of all ages. In the geriatric population, sexual problems are often side effects of various other health issues associated with aging. Though there are number of other contributing factors leading to sexual problems. The hectic life style is somehow promoting these causes a lot.

First of all, the question arises, how much importance people give to their sexual health. Are they aware of this term or simply neglecting it on the cost of their general overall health? Day by day, people are becoming more aware about their health but is it the same for sexual health too? Though each individual has its own point of view but people would certainly agree that general health and sexual health go hand in hand. Our sexual health does influence our day to day life a lot and vice versa. In fact sexual health also means the same i.e. good health but it’s related to the hygiene for your genital and related systems, feeling satisfied about your sexual desires.

According to World Health Organization (WHO) definition of sexual health i.e. "A state of physical, emotional, mental and social well-being related to sexuality; not merely the absence of disease, dysfunction or infirmity. Sexual health requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as the possibility of having pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination and violence. For sexual health to be attained and maintained, the sexual rights of all persons must be protected, respected and fulfilled".

Now you can judge yourself against the definition and can at least roughly determine where you actually stand. The above mentioned definition includes not only physical but also mental, emotional and social well being. The key physical aspects of sexual health are Sexual lifestyles and behavior, access to works and services in accordance with improving sexual health. These areas will be covered later in my blogs.

Whether it’s a problem related to work, home, money, health, or relationship, it will directly or indirectly affects your sexual desire and plays havoc with your sexual health and ultimately consumes your well-being. You must be sexually healthy, to maintain your sexual activity. But without proper sex drive, you cannot enjoy better sex which can finally result into all kinds of health problems and a short term relationships.
